The Essential Chinese Herbs and Chinese Herbal Remedies in Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese medicine uses Chinese herbs and remedies to bring the human body back into balance and harmony with the universe

Three Principals

It is believed that there are three basic principals of Chinese medicine:
  1. Humans are part of the universe. Humans can not be separated from the universal process of change.
  2. The universe will balance itself. Good health results from living harmoniously.
  3. Everything is connected. Using a holistic approach is the best way to address the bodies imbalances.

These herbs are just a starting point in this ancient form of herbal healing and herbal medicine is just a small portion of the Chinese healing system. To get the most benefit from this ancient healing system, you should combine the use of herbs with various meditative and holistic practices such as qigong and acupuncture.

Qigong and Acupuncture - how they work

Entire books and courses have been written and developed on the subjects of qigong and acupuncture by themselves, so I'm only going to give you a very basic overview here.

Those who practice this ancient form of healing believe that the body contains an invisible energy system. Traditional Chinese Medicine says that the root causes of all illness in the body are energy blockages and disturbances within a person's energy system. To rid the body of disease and illness, you must cleanse the energy system of these blockages. The practices of qigong and acupuncture are two ways to do this.
